# Request a VM cluster

> How to request a VM cluster: talk to sales, agree on a configuration, and we provision it for you.

VM clusters are set up with our sales team. Tell us what you need, we scope a configuration with you, and we provision and hand over the cluster.

## How to request

[Talk to sales](https://vessl.ai/en/talk-to-sales?utm_source=docs\&utm_medium=referral\&utm_campaign=vm_clusters_en\&utm_content=order_intro) with a short description of your workload. It helps to share:

* **GPU type**: H100, H200, B200, or B300.
* **Cluster size**: how many nodes you need (each node has 8 GPUs).
* **Contract length**: how long you need the cluster.
* **Storage**: whether you need NFS shared storage, and roughly how much.

We review availability and work out a configuration with you, then put together a plan tailored to your workload.

## What happens next

Once you agree on the configuration:

1. We provision the cluster.
2. When it's ready, you receive SSH connection details and the cluster shows as **Active** in your dashboard. See [Connect over SSH](/vm-clusters/connect-ssh).

## Before you start

VM clusters use your VESSL Cloud account for access and admin. Have these ready:

* **Organization admin** role: a VM cluster is an organization-level resource.
* A **representative SSH public key** for root access. Share it with your account manager, who registers it on the cluster. You connect to each VM with the matching private key.
